Umm, not to me, but perhaps to you it would be.
If you are getting desparate here are some other pasta topping ideas:
Parmesan cheese
Butter
Olive Oil
Tomato Sauce
Diced Tomato (fresh) with basil and garlic
Chicken broth
Cheese slices w/ a little milk to melt better (mac & cheese)
Salad Dressing (on chilled pasta)

I can't imagine that would be that good. I tried to think really good, and tried to imagine something like a southwest pasta salad type of thing. That doesn't sound too bad.
It sounds like you are trying to substitute it for marinara though, and that doesn't sound too appetizing.

I think you may be looking for an easy way out of a good sauce.
Sweat off some onion and garlic in butter, splash of wine, reduce for a minute ot two, tin of tomato (fresh even better) simmer for ten min and puree.
Simple and quick.
