Looking for a recipe for oven baked steak?!

Question:

Looking for a recipe for oven baked steak?

My husband is from the midwest, his grandma used to always make the same meal for him when went back to visit. It's some type of steak that she coated, fried in a pan and then cooked it in the oven. She would then make a brown gravy with the drippings from the fry pan. I know they serve this dish at the Amana Colonies restaurants. We would like to make it for father's day as a surprise for him - any help with this is greatly appreciated!!

Answers:
use thin (about 1/2 inch) sirloin. pound slightly then dredge in seasoned flour (salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and parsley flakes). fry in shallow oil, turning once(so your breading stays put).
remove from pan.
now the gravy.
sprinkle about 3 T flour in pan and stir over med. heat for approx. 10 mins. slowly add beef broth or water, about 1cup and continue cooking till slightly thicken. return beef to pan, cover and bake till fork tender. may need to add more water
if too thick.
re-season if necessary and serve with mashed potatoes.
enjoy !

Take round steak and roll in flour, salt, and pepper until coated well. Fry in hot oil until brown and crispy like fried chicken. Put in oven baking dish and put into 250 degree oven for 2 hours.

BAKED STEAK

Choose any kind of steak for this. We prefer sirloin, but round or whatever is okay.
Sirloin Steak: Cut into serving pieces. Roll in flour of which you have added salt and pepper. Add Crisco to heavy iron skillet and brown meat. When all pieces are browned, rinse skillet out with water and pour over steak. Put lid container and bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.

Good served with mashed potatoes and shelly beans.

That's just chicken fried steak. you need the grease from having fried some chicken. Then you coat the steak in eggwash and flour..fry it a few minutes on each side...then pop it in the oven for however long it would take to get the wellness on the steak you desire. the gravy, I can't help you with, cuz my Grandma never showed me that. BUt I think it's just a saw-mill gravy, which is, you just add a little milk and flour to thicken, and stir a while until it thickens up.
