How do you mix the perfect margarita, does it involve Grand Marnier?!

Question:

How do you mix the perfect margarita, does it involve Grand Marnier?

do you use the margarita bmix bottle by Jose Cuervo and Grand Marnier or contreau?
do you use Jose Cuervo tequila, or the cheapest stuff you can you can get your hands on?

Answers:
Definitely Grand Marnier. Cointreau is just an neutral orange flavored liqueur whereas Grand Marnier is made from Cognac macerated with Caribbean orange peels.

Would you go for an orange syrup drink or fresh orange juice?

Cheapest is not always better. You cannot go wrong using Jose Cuervo but most good bars use Grand Marnier. Do a search on Baby Acapulco's in Austin, Texas read about their popular margarita's

my favorite way to make a margarita is two parts silver tequilla, don't go so far as to use patron (i think it is a waste of spectacular tequilla) but something better than cuervo, i prefer cointreau but either or, one parts orange liquor, one part orange juice, freshly squeezed preferably, one part each lemon and lime juice, freshly squeezed, one part simple syrup, homemade or store bought, simple sugar is just two parts sugar and one part water, slowly heated until the sugar is dissolved, mix well and pour over ice in a salt rimmed glass, this is my favorite way to make it but if you go with sweet and sour mix instead of lemon and lime juice then eliminate the simple syrup as it will be too sweet, still add the orange juice though it is a great balancer with the sourness of the mix. enjoy.

NO prepackaged margarita mix. Fresh lime juice, Triple Sec (Grand Marnier is too sweet), ice and a good tequila. That is all that is needed.

oh yeah. i like sauza hornitos tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and some grand marnier....mmmmmm.

My favorite margarita recipe

1/2 can frozen limeade
6 ounces gold tequila
a shot or two of triple sec
1 teaspoon lemon juice (or more to taste)

If serving on the rocks, a splash of 7up is great on top. Otherwise for blended margaritas, not needed, just add above mixture with ice and blend.

tip for salting glass, pour a little lemon juice onto a saucer, dip edge of empty glass in juice, then dip in margarita salt.

Enjoy!

I eyeball the mix so not sure on the exact amounts.
Tequila
Contreau
couple drops of Triple Sec
couple drops of Orange Juice
Sour mix to the top

Shake in shaker, pour into glass and add a float of Grand Marnier.

Or try this recipe: Beer-garitas
one can frozen limeaide (save the empty can)
half of the limeaide can of tequila
one limeaide can of beer
-mix all ingrediants in a blender with ice.

Done and done. Refreshing summer drink with a kick. Easy and always a crowd pleaser.

~Cheers

Stay away from the premix, keep it simple. I use 30ml tequila, 15ml cointreau, 10ml lemon juice. shake well with ice then strain into a salt frosted cocktail glass. Or for parties you can try icy margaritas: use same quantities as above times how many drinks you want and blend with ice then pour straight into salt frosted cocktail glasses.

use silver patron, 2oz, 1 oz grand marnier. equal parts sweet and sour and oj , shake, rim the glass with salt and then serve. use good liquor

I second the recipe given with the beer in it. Make for a great margarita!
