Pizza stones?!
Pizza stones?
what is the best position for oven rack, for a pizza stone
Answers:
If you have a gas stove the pizza stone should be laid directly on the bottom of the oven. If you have electric, move on of the racks to the lowest position and lay the stone on it.
The idea is not to get heat circulating around the stone, but to have the stone absorb as much heat as possible to properly cook the pizza. The stone will radiate plenty of heat to the rest of the oven.

I could be wrong, but I think you're supposed to lay a pizza stone on the very bottom of the oven -- not the bottom rack -- the actual bottom floor of the oven.
middle
Center shelf height, in the middle of the rack, as far back as the stone can go.
always place your stone in the middle of the rack on the middle setting. never never use your stone under the broiler or on the lowest level, this can cause the stone to crack and break and unfortunately depending on the brand of stone, warranties do not cover that due to improper use. (mine is pampered chef and thats the first thing my consultant told me, cause she had that happen.)
I bought one once, and it broke while in the oven. I'm back to using upside down cookie sheets to bake pizza on.
in the middle of the oven. if you want a great idea, try using your BBQ grill instead. no need for a stone just put your favorite dough right on the grill, it won't stick i promise. You can also use your stone on the grill too it really makes summertime pizza cooking with the kids fun
You bought the floor model and forgot to ask for the instructions - - Again!!!
