Question:

Ok i found a rotten potato in my pantry how do i get rid of the nats?

i threw the potato away but the nats are still flying around the house, what do i do? thanks

Answers:
They will die within 24 hrs. Also to keep them away from your pantry take a paper towel and put a mix of vinegar and lemon juice on it and throw it in the pantry and close the door. Wait an hour before you reopen. Also spraying air freshener in the area where they fly will run them off through out the house.
I know what is like YUK! Summer time is the worst time to have a vegetable to go bad in a dry bin. Hope this helped you. Worked for me - my grandmother showed this to me when I was about 12 and has never failed.

spray them down with Windex it works

make sure the pantry area has no rot/mold residue. they will smell it out for days. use a bleach cleaner if you can :)

Try this tip from my M-I-L:
Take a small glass fill it 1/2" with Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 drops of dishwashing liquid, mix well. You will find those flies drawn to the cup and gone forever!

Good Luck

WITH A CAN OF RAID

Perhaps you should have taken the potato away slooowly.
That way the gnats would be able to follow it!

You can do two things;-} get the potato back & make a trap.
Use a medium glass jar; punch some nail-holes in the lid.
Put some warm soapy water in the bottom with the potato.
Leave it in the cupboard where the potatoes are/were.
You can also wash out the cupboard with diluted bleach.
But wait until the trap has done it's work.

If you threw the potato away, you'll have to find something else which will be just as attractive, try vinegar.

spray the room with lysol they will disapait after awile, there life span is like 6 hours

okay no offense noodle (responder to the question) but they will NOT die in 24 hrs. My grandmother got nats in her house before so, yeah... we bought lots of flyswatters & put them everywhere in the house so when we saw one, we swatted it...
Also, we bought a spray bottle & we filled it up with water and sprayed them... CHEAP & AFFORDABLE!! : D
