What's the difference between yellow split peas and green split peas.?
Well besides color is the taste different or the same and the smell and texture thanks just wondering.

WIth yellow ones, you will find they have a milder taste, but they go well with anything you would serve the green ones with. They have a lighter flavor and go quite nicely with fish. Have a great one!
The color (obviously) and the yellow can be a bit more bitter.
I think they are the same pea, only yellow ones are riper.
The green ones take longer to cook, than the yellow.
There are also red ones, which may be a different pea.
I'd say texture is the same after cooking, green are milder.
