Ideas for lunch to take to work?!

Question:

Ideas for lunch to take to work?

I need to start taking my lunches to work to save money. You all have any ideas... Anything but the standard sandwich. Also halfway healthy, like under 1000 calories.

Thanks

Answers:
I generally take leftovers from my dinner the night before (and since I can cook the scent drives my co-workers batty) ;-)~

what about some salad or some low calorie soup with brown bread, sounds yummy to me.

bring a barbequed human leg and some bbq sauce.its so good especially at work for lunch, and it saves you money too

Idk, but I'll tell you what my mom gives me for lunch for school. =]
Kay, so basically, she takes last night's dinner and makes a sandwich.
I've had everything from the basic chicken parm on a sweet roll to roast ham and potatoes au gratin on whole wheat bread.
A good thing to do is buy breaded chicken cutlets at the butcher, keep them in your freezer, heat them up in the morning and put them on some challah bread in the morning. delicious. =]
even if it's cold, it's really good.
be creative.
make a salad.
bring some good ole ranch dressing to work with you..make your co-workers jealous.
okay and i know this sounds so stupid but
peanut butter and jelly
i love it!!
idk why, like i forgot about that sandwich for a while and then i tried it and it was so good!!
for snacks, bring 100 calorie snack packs. they are yummy.
kay just remember last nite's dinner is the key.
ew.
sounds gross.
but
it's true! ;)

When I was working, I would take a salad to work with me and a little salad dressing.

Giant Tortillas.......including the "gourmet" kinds made w/ spinach and tomatos..etc......those are your best friend for "not boring" lunches.

Advise: make sure they are room temp or a little warm when you are about to assemble your wrap, otherwise they may break.

I like to :
Spread whipped cream cheese (any cream cheese) and then top w/ things like green onions, chopped turkey, tomatoes, shredded lettuce........whatever you like.....and roll up tightly in plastic wrap or foil, refrigerate over night and by lunch time, its all nice and compact and yummy, all the flavors come together.

You can do this with so many things.........from last nights chicken and stuffing, ....last nights roast beef, your favorite salad, mexican style ..anything goes in a wrap.
Enjoy!
