How much stale bread to chuck away in the trash each year?!

Question:

How much stale bread to chuck away in the trash each year?

none? a little? tons?

Answers:
Chuck it in the trash?!! What are you thinking? Make a compost pile, bury it in your garden, or leave it out for the birds and squirrels. Throw it away?! Sheesh!

None, if it is stale I will feed it to the birds outside.

a little probably. good luck.

No point in chucking it. I cut it into cubes and freeze it for croutons. I have no time to cook, but I draw the line at eating a store bought crouton...

My family used stale bread and other non meat food for animal feed. Meat scraps are given to the neighbors mutt.

dont chuck it, break it up and throw it outside to feed the birdies and squirrels. They wont mind if its a little stale.

None, slightly stale bread gets made into French toast.

Very stale bread gets cut up, seasoned with garlic powder, and Italian seasonings then baked slowly in the oven top make croutons (no oil)

Very very stale bread gets ran through the food processor to make bread crumbs.

At my house if we cannot use the stale bread in a recipe we give it to the cows and donkeys, and what they do not eat the birds eat.
Peace.
