How can i keep my dip fresh?!

Question:

How can i keep my dip fresh?

We are having a party outdoors on sunday and its fairly breezy and warm. There will be a veggie platter and crackers and dip. How can I keep the dip cold and fresh without adding ice. I was thinking of doing the whole, dip in center with food around, but if it means separating it to keep it cold..then I will do it. It will be ranch dip for the veggies and garden veggie spread for crackers. Suggestions please?

display is great to have the dip with the veggies. both should be kept cold when outdoors. i would have a plater on top of a small casserol dish that is just a bit smaller than the plater filled with ice. indoors sometimes i would go and have small veggie platers to switch out and dips in a big bowl with a small bowl of ice under it. make sure that when the ice melts the one with the food doesn't fall into the one with the ice. it makes a water mess. ice is cheapest and easiest way. if the party isn't too soon, try ordering an ice mat or ice trivet. if you have a lot of these parties, it''s reuseable. i ordered mines from amazon

... replace the ice as it melts

...something else. that you can just pick up at a store. the blue ice packs. those things that you put into the coolers to keep stuff cold that you can reuse. it keeps frozen longer than ice and with out the mess. a little water condensation from it thawing, but nothing major.

you need ice first put down a bowl of ice a tad bigger then the platter you are going to use then put platter on top of that and voila but you have to use ice or else you will get sick from eating spoiled food good luck

Take a larger bowl and fill it almost full with ice. Place the dip bowl in the ice and it will stay cold for as long as the ice survives!

ice down

To answer your question, do NOT freeze the dip. It will develop ice crystals and lose it's texture.

Try putting it in the fridge.
