Is a pickle considered a vegetable?!

Question:

Is a pickle considered a vegetable?

This may seem like a strange question, but my son loves them!

Answers:
Pickling is a way of preservation.

If it has seeds, it is a fruit. A fruit is defined as the edible reproductive part of a plant. So technically cucumbers, tomatoes, squash, etc. are classified as a fruit, yet used as a vegetable.

If it is any other part of a plant, it is a vegetable.

yes it started off as a cucumber so technically it is a veggie

yes, pretty much...

It is a cucumber,so...YES!

yes, the only difference is: IT IS PRESERVED

yes it is its a pickled cucumber..............

Technically, I guess they would be a veggie. Just be careful about the amount of sodium in them!

=]

yes, pickles are salty, garlicky, vinegary cucumbers

a pickeld vegtable

Yes.

Pickle → cucumber → fruit → vegetable

Cucumbers are fruits, and all fruits are technically vegetables.

Pickles are cucumbers which are fruits-technically.

I love them too!

Yes luv because a pickle is a cucumber before processing but once it is processed it contains 2 much salt even the garlic pickles contains 2 much salt because a cucumber needs salt, vinegar and spices in order 2 make it a pickle. Try not 2 eat 2 many pickles but u can eat cucumbers all day and every day.

I believe it is a vegetable, considering a pickle is made from cucumbers.

Well, they are cucumbers.
