What is the hottest pepper you have ever eaten?!
Answers:
I've been growing the Ghost Chili - Bhut Jalokia for three or four years now.
I grow them as a novelty and for bragging rights to growing the most difficult of the tropical peppers in Z4 Dakota.
I've only tried one once and my experience was similar to this.

These are in a whole different category of hot compared to the "mild" Habenaro.
You'd get the same effect suck'n on a can of pepper spray.

The hottest I've had were finely shredded scotch bonnets.
I was in a Mexican restaurant and it was pretty mild so I asked for a small bowl of chillis (meaning jalepnos) and they were obviously insulted because those wee bastards were mega-hot!
I ate them all out of spite too!
:-0 yeeeeeaarrrrgh!!!!!!

I once let a regular jalapeno we grew in the garden to ripen til it was DEEP red. I nibbled the edge and it burnt worse than any habenero I've ever had.
scotch bonnet, jalapenos, habaneros, thai chili, jaimpur, kantotans, etc...
Red Savina Habanero.
I'm still recovering..
habbanero
