Chinese Fortune Cookies Made in Mexico?!

Question: Chinese Fortune Cookies Made in Mexico?
I had Chinese for lunch and opened my fortune cookie, it had English on one side and the Spanish pronunciation on the other side. Even had 2 'fortunes" in the cookie! Are the Chinese being politically correct or are they made in Mexico?

Answers:

Fortune cookies were originated in California, U.S.A.

In U.S., you can find fortune cookies with one side written in English, and the other side Lotto number. Or one side being English, and the other side is printed in traditional Chinese written language.

In San Francisco China Town stores, you can buy them in bags, perhaps printed in various written languages.

Fortune cookies have found their way to Chinese restaurants in other countries. For example, Mexico. The Chinese restaurants in Mexico need the fortune written in Spanish language, in addition to English.

When Chinese restaurants in Russia start ordering and purchasing these cookies, you will find the fortunes written in Russian.

These cookies now can be customized for flavors, packaging, and the written languages.

You must have mistaken the Chinese pinyin with Spanish, for someone without any knowledge of both of these languages, it does look like Spanish to English speakers. Pinyin is the romanization of Chinese characters.

they were actually invented in the US
not china...
