What is the best way to preserve tortillas? In the fridge? or in the cupbord?!

Question:

What is the best way to preserve tortillas? In the fridge? or in the cupbord?

Answers:
Unopened from the store, you can keep them on the shelf.
But after opening, put the corn tortillas in the fridge in a
tightly sealed container. We use the big zip lock bags and
mash the air out before sealing. We keep the flour tortillas
on top of the fridge tightly sealed as bread would be. I've
had them in the fridge and found they got hard around the
outter edge for some reason. So we leave those out. We
don't buy a large enough amount to keep them on hand too
long. Since we don't eat Mexican food every week due to
the colesterol in much of the foods from the fat content.

Wrap them tightly in foil and put them in a good covered container, keep them in the fridge, but make sure they are tightly covered or the edges will dry out.

store them in a sealed bag or container in the fridge they will go off like normal bread in the cupboard

I keep mine in a ziploc (gallon size) in the fridge. Even though mine aren't made with lard, I still think they are more fresh hanging out in the fridge. I also keep my bread in there to protect it from moisture and mold, esp in the summer months!

I buy tortillas in bulk, divide them up, double-wrap them in plastic wrap and then wrap them again in heavy-duty foil and freeze them. They take roughly 12 hours to thaw.
