Question:

What are some good food items to send to a friend in Iraq?

Obviously it's got to be stuff that won't melt or get crunched. Any ideas?

What a great person you are to do this for our soldiers.....You can send a lot of stuff in one package if you get stuff that is dehydrated then all they have to do is add bottled water One item I get at Walmart is a bag of mixed dried fruit. It has the Sam's club name on it I believe but it's so good and quick energy food. It was located in Walmart across from the chips. I'm sure whatever you send it will be well appreciated. You Go Girl!

hey !
you could send some packed food like those ready to eat food packtes !!
you could send him hard candies which dont need refrigiration ......you could send some tinned food which wont need to be refrigerated. like maybe some kind of pickled food like fish and vegetables etc !

it also has to be nonperisables (which are dry foods and canned foods)...ramon noodles that sort of stuff

hey my hubby is over there and i am trying this recipe out tomorrow, it seems like a great care pak item!! u can also search recipe sites for jar cake recipes. i suggest www.allrecipes.com i have also sent brownies and peanut butter cookies and apple muffins and they all made it there great!

Fill WIDE mouth PINT glass mason canning jars ( you can get these at Wlamrt or at a gorcery store) 1/2 full with cake mix

Wipe off the top of jar, just to make sure they will seal right

Place jar on cookie sheet (WITH LID off)

Bake upright for 45-50 minutes

Take out of oven and put lids on RIGHT away, this will seal them.

This will work with any recipe...from breads to cakes
