I have eaten a fish in Japan in the package it is written in katakana mero when i ask the sales person she said that it is the name of the fish Mero? is it the name of the fish or the name of the preparation of the fish? i checked my Japanese dictionary and cant find that word.

It may be a type of sea bass (?), not Japanese, prepared with 'miso'.

The preapred name is 'meromiso'.
