Palm oil is it for cooking?!

Question:

Palm oil is it for cooking?

i have a jar and dont no what to do with it

Answers:
It depends on whether you are concerned about the harmful effects of saturated fat. Palm oil is used for cooking. It ranks pretty high in saturated fat (49 percent) in comparison to Canola oil (7 percent). Vegetable shortening contains 39 percent saturated fat so if you were to fry in palm oil in place of shortening, you would have pretty similar health results. The Palm Oil industry begs to differ on these claims. I'd tend to lean towards nutritional studies instead.

^ It's used in cooking and baking, but it's high in saturated fats.
