Answers:
they are not smores if you do not use graham crackers

but a cookie (I think oatmeal would be good) with marshmallow and chocolate would still be tasty

you can also make your own graham crackers

Homemade Graham Crackers

Makes 20

* 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for working
* 1 cup whole-wheat flour
* 1/2 cup untoasted wheat germ
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
* 3/4 cup packed light-brown sugar
* 2 tablespoons high-quality honey

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees;. Whisk flours, wheat germ, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon in a medium bowl; set aside.
2. Put butter, brown sugar, and honey into the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment; mix on medium speed until pale and fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes, scraping down sides of bowl as needed. Reduce speed to low. Add the flour mixture, and mix until combined.
3. Turn out dough onto a floured surface, and quarter. Roll out each piece between 2 sheets of floured parchment paper to 1/8 inch thick. Stack on a baking sheet. Refrigerate until firm, about 20 minutes.
4. Working with 1 piece of dough at a time, transfer to a work surface, and remove top parchment. Cut into 4-inch rounds with a fluted cutter. Gather scraps, refrigerate 30 minutes, reroll, and cut.
5. Pierce crackers using the tines of a fork. Transfer to baking sheets lined with parchment paper, spacing about 1/2 inch apart. Bake, rotating halfway through, until dark golden brown, 8 to 9 minutes. Let cool on sheet 5 minutes; transfer crackers to wire racks to cool completely. Crackers can be stored in an airtight container up to 3 days.

:-)

Use any kind of sugar cookie, they work fine!!!

They would not be smores without graham crackers..maybe try tea biscuits?

Try a digestive biscuit--that's a pretty decent equivalent to the graham cracker.

that is a tough one but what the heck; I'm up for a challenge.

You can try saltines, the chocolate and marshmallow would be a nice twist on the cracker

how about some large sugar cookies

Try a s'more granola bar, they actually do taste like the real thing! Failing that, post your address and I'll send you some. I live in Italy and we have them here.

There is a good reason they aren't available, they really don't taste very good compared to all the other salty or sugary snacks we ship all over the world. The graham cracker bears are a great improvement.

S'mores are very simple to make, very messy...so typically eaten by kids at a campfire. You will soon see why.

A thin, crispy cookie like a sugar cookie would work. Put about two squares of milk chocolate on the cookie. Then roast a full size marshmallow over a fire or kitchen gas burner. (In the country use a stick with the branches torn off, in town, a skewer). Quickly put the marshmallow on top of the chocolate and then put another cookie on top and eat before it gets cold. Don't be afraid of the blackened exterior, that crisp crunch followed by the dripping center is what makes it fun.....and the outdoors of course.
