dad's a meat cutter...
if it smells like asshole then dont eat it...
2 days, without it going sour. You can keep it in the freezer 6-10 months in the freezer.
u can freeze it as long as u want,...................haa
I would think it would be ok to use today, as long as it was in the fridge. Smell it, if it went bad, you will be able to smell it....
i would say a weeked unsesoned sesoned less
its bad when it smells or becomes discolored. I'd cook it tonight!
thanks for posting this question because i just realized that i have chicken in the fridge that i thawed on sunday too! So i'm cooking it tonight as long as it doesnt smell, if it smells im tossin it!
it would smell and look bad..its fine cause you had it in the fridge..to be extra safe you could parboil before you bake or saute or fry
Most packages of meat have a "use or freeze by" date on it. Check that. But it should be fine - smell it if you have doubts. Chicken that has gone bad will smell funny.
it is okay for 2-4 day after thawing. you would know if it is no good the smell will make you never want to eat chicken again
OH believe me you'll know if it's bad, just smell it! Chicken reeks when it goes bad, so if it smells OK, it's OK to cook!
I wouldn't do anything other than toss it out. There's too much of a chance for it to have started to go bad. It seems like a waste, but if you DO get sick, then there's perhaps doctor bills, time off from work, etc. I'd play it safe than sorry.
You will smell it if it's foul. Is it whole chix? Pre frozen? What type?
Generally do not mess with it this late. Your stomach. 2 days max is my gage for thaw & fresh .
Chicken, along with other foods, can be dangerous to eat well before it begins to smell or look "bad".
I'd say you were ok as long as it defrosted in the fridge since Saturday.
2-3 days max. When it goes bad it will get slimy and may smell. The longer it goes bad, the more it will smell and get slimy.
I would say as long as it is not slimy & does not smell bad, you could cook it today. I would not go much past today though. I think most cooks say 2-3 days after it is thawed as long as it is kept refrigerated.
What kind of chicken? Whole legs breast boneless breast boneless tenderloins wings? If it has bone it is fine if it is boneless and thin or small and it went right from the store to the freezer meaning you didnt have it in the fridge for a day or two before it was frozen then it should be fine but get it in the pan ASAP as for going bad you will know first bite before you even swallow if it is on the verge you might just get a little gas but this is unlikely.
It depends on how fresh it is.
If it is stored in the coldest part of the fridge... usually the meat container or drawer and wrapped or sealed properly, you can store it for up to a couple days past the sell by date.
It is still best to put any uncooked chicken in the freezer, patted dry and sealed tight.
it will smell pretty funky if it was bad. i made the mistake one time- one i will not make because of the trauma my nose took... golly! i left it in the fridge after being thawed completely outside for 2 days... ewwwww... bad idea!
You should use that chicken within 1 or 2 days according to the USDA. I wouldn't eat it. The way you can tell if its bad is by an off-putting smell
The below is a good link:

This is some of what it says:
SAFE DEFROSTING
FSIS recommends three ways to defrost chicken: in the refrigerator, in cold water and in the microwave. Never defrost chicken on the counter or in other locations. It's best to plan ahead for slow, safe thawing in the refrigerator. Boneless chicken breasts will usually defrost overnight. Bone-in parts and whole chickens may take 1 to 2 days or longer. Once the raw chicken defrosts, it can be kept in the refrigerator an additional day or two before cooking. During this time, if chicken defrosted in the refrigerator is not used, it can safely be refrozen without cooking first.
Overall, I would say you are cutting it close...

no it won't cook funnyy. Its good. You could keep chicken in a freezer for about 3 or 5 days, and You could leave it to thaw in the fridge for 3 hours.
There has to be a date on the packaging... read it, then if it is after that date, throw it out.
if it smells bad then toss it. you can freeze it for 4-5 months.
