Where can I buy chorizo?!

Question: Where can I buy chorizo?
I am looking to buy Mexican chorizo but I live just outside of Philadelphia and NONE of the grocery stores around here carry it. Any thoughts on where I may be able to find it? Thanks!

good ol' walmart.

I am Hispanic so I can say this....Ask a Hispanic person if they know where you can buy chorizo. Do not specify Mexican chorizo because it could be misconstrued as your thinking / implying that they are Mexican and you may offend them if they are not Mexican. If they are Mexican then its cool but other wise just say chorizo. The point is that Hispanics use ingredients like that often in their cooking and will probably know where to find them. If you are able to find regular "red" Spanish chorizo then it should be fine for whatever you are cooking because they have a similar flavor. Worst case scenario either do as every one else says and find a meat shop or,
on your next trip out of your local area you can stock up on chorizo, alls you have to do is take an insulated lunch bag with a frozen insert with you. You can also order them online, and just have them shipped to you.
I hope you are able to find some....Good luck

P.S.
If you ask I am sure that your local grocery store would be more than happy to order it and keep it in stock for you...they see it as good buisness / great customer service & as a way to get you to always shop there with them.
I know that when I moved I had a similar issue,
when I asked if they had what I was looking for & they replied no, they offered to order it for me. so having few options I agreed. When I went to the store the next time and saw it I thanked them. They said that they would make it a point to keep it in stock for me. And I live in a major metropolitan city and this was a huge grocery store chain so, if they can do it
I am sure that any one would, especially a smaller grocer.
P.S.S
Check out your local craigs list. On the main page there is a section for DISCUSSION FORUMS, and under that there is a sub category FOOD and these will be people in yout area discussing everything about food including people asking questions and giving answers. It is a great resource you should check it out.

Look in the phone book for a butcher shop. Most storebought chorizo contains things like salivary glands and other stuff they can't sell alone. I'd stopped eating it a long time ago after growing up eating it! But I did find a link where you can buy it online and its made with pork shoulder...sounds yummy! I might order some.

Hi Chloe!
You can buy chorizo on Amazon.

Probably the best you can do is the deli section of the supermarket. Ask them to get what you want if it's not available. Otherwise an asian grocery if you have one there

I love mexican chorizo but is there any food cities, ranch markets, or walmarts over there? because if there is you can get chorizo right there!!! thats where i get mine at

Wow Philadelphia?? Umm try going to the meat shops and ask the butcher they must have it, its delicious.

Any meat counter should be able to sell it. Keep trying different grocery stores.
