I was gonna make mac and cheese tonight but...?!

Question:

I was gonna make mac and cheese tonight but...?

i have no milk what else can i use besides that?

Answers:
cream of mushroom soup, it sounds really gross I know, but it actually gives it a great flavor, my kids even loved it.

You can actually make it with just a bit of oil and using water to moisten. It won't be exactly the same, but if the cheese flavor is strong enough, it will still be good. Or if you have canned milk, you can use that.

I think you should go get some milk it is pretty important in mac & cheese.

I had that same problem once, and made it according to the directions, but instead of milk, I just used water. If you use just enough to make it so it's not watery, it's still pretty good. :)

Do you have sour cream or cream cheese? Both are great in mac and cheese. I would add a couple tablespoon of either of these.

oil would work, so would just using water

you could also go the old fashioned route and bum a cup of milk from your neighbor

just add extra butter...it's that easy!

You need to make something else or go to the grocery store. I keep shelf stable soy milk for backup when I run out of milk, but a store is less than two blocks away.

Water and yogurt or soy milk would be the closest match.

velveta Cheese

Go to the store & get milk - water will just ruin the dish!

I have used a can of evaporated milk , sour cream and even mayonnaise when I ran out of milk.

Evaporated milk mixed with an equal amount of water. Reconstituted powdered milk. Half and half with a little water added. Soy milk. Heck, even chicken stock might work. You can make a white sauce with that. :) I assume you mean homemade mac and cheese, correct? If you're talking about the stuff out of the box, I wouldn't use chicken stock for that. :)

Hi favre_84,

Try canned milk if you got it, powered milk, sour cream, cream of any kinda soup-with alittle water, cream cheese, cheeze whiz in the jar( take off lid) nuke it & pour over pasta easy mac & cheese. Have a good day. :o)

Go out and buy some milk, it's essential
