Ive never eaten chinese, what is the best first dish to try?!

Question: Ive never eaten chinese, what is the best first dish to try?
Answers:

General Tso's chicken is great. Honey chicken is good too.

I'm assuming you're in the states for this and at a fairly typical sit down (or take out) Chinese restaurant. I'm also assuming you don't want a GIANT ADVENTURE IN CUISINE (and you really do have to look for it if you're in the states).

I'd suggest you start with a soup.

Wonton Soup is a good one, it's very tasty and not at all scary.

For a starch, I'd go with some form of fried rice or maybe lo mein (it's a noodle dish).

In entrees, chicken with cashew nuts is as safe as you can get, but you might consider roast duck instead, it's hella good. Mu shu is a meat (generally pork) with scrambled eggs and a bunch of surprising ingredients served with little thin pancakes. It's a bit more adventurous, but it's tasty and fun to eat.

For a little more adventure, consider Mapodofu (it might be on the menu as Ma Po Tofu, but almost any Chinese restaurant will make it even if it's not on the menu). It has lots of tofu, ground pork, and a lovely (somewhat spicy) sauce. It's a personal favorite of mine.

Typically, it's served family style, so everyone shares what everyone orders. Sample everything and enjoy!

I LOVE CHINEEEESE!

Suggest u go to a Chinese buffet for lunch time and try out a little bit of everything at one place. This way u get ideal what u like or don't like. After learn the names of the dishes, then try a fast Chinese food places, If u still like the garbage then try a real garbage house, a fish may cost 35.00 or a lobster may cost 60.00
If u like me cleaning toilet for a living, can't afforded to go those places.

General Taso, Orange Chicken, Beef Lo Mien, Fried Rice, Egg Rolls; etc.

Quite a bit, and I usually do a lot of Asian cooking at home. Here are some countries that I've cooked food from:

1. China
2. Philippines
3. Singapore
4. Vietnam

And I've always done a good job on them.

I've mostly like doing Fried Rice; I've been told that my homemade one is better than the restaurant's. Then there's my "Combination Noodles w/Chorizo", that came from the Philippines, and my Singapore Spare Ribs.

But hey, try what you think is best; but my recommendations are up top.

If you have never eaten it before at all I would start off slow...broccoli beef and some type of fried rice or chow mein. Sweet Sour Chicken or pork is also a good start.

They also do this with Chicken and green beans. if you are a vegetarian I would recommend a veggie stir fry with some tofu.

Love asian food!

I think the first Chinese food I ever had was sizzling rice soup (chicken and rice soup) and shrimp fried rice. Then I got into more like pork lo mein and cashew chicken, and kung pao dishes. Try the hot and sour soup, it's great to clear out sinuses.

You are the best person to decide about eating any Chinese food. Go to a Chinese restaurant, choose some good stuff or ask the waiter to narrate about them.

opinion

try chicken lo maine, orange chicken, mongolian beef or fried rice.
