They're both really good. I like Italian food because of its.... nostalgic taste. And true Chinese food tastes exotic. Sure Italian food might take more time, but it's not to say the fancier Chinese dishes can take hours too.
Chinese food.
@Serenity
That is just the perception in the US of Chinese food and Italian food. Italian food is elevated to a ridiculous standard in the US, and just because it takes a shorter time to prepare does not mean the chef is any less skilled or sophisticated. It takes great training to prepare a perfect stir fry, to be able to know what temperature is perfect and exactly how many seconds to leave the food in. Chinese cooking is about respecting the ingredients by presenting them at their best and freshest, without sauces to detract from the purity of the ingredients. You try cooking it some time and produce the wok-hay effect. It's a lot harder than you think. I think most Michelin starred chefs would fall flat on their asses trying to do what the typical Chinese chef does.
Most Chinese food in the US that Americans are familiar with is disgusting gloppy crap that has been modified to fit American tastes. It has no resemblance to Chinese cuisine, and yes, there actually is fine Chinese cuisine. You thought they served emperors and aristocrats the same pig slop that take our restaurants serve?
If you bothered to open up your eyes and stop being so narrow-minded, maybe you would notice these things.
I really like Chinese food but I appreciate Italian food more because of the talent and the time that goers into preparing the meal. It doesn't take more than 10 or 15 minutes to prepare a meal of Chinese food but for a meal of Italian food it may take an hour or more plus many ingredients to prepare it plus all the heart and love that goes into the dish.
I like Chinese food coz it's easy to be made and it doesn't demands a lot of time.
Italian food is my favorite ever,and Mediterranean cuisine in general,because contarry to the chinese,it's more classy and sophisticated in a way.And gosh,that fresh smell from the basil!Yummy!
