Answers:

Sushi is made with white, short-grained, Japanese rice mixed with a dressing made of rice vinegar, sugar, salt, and occasionally kombu and sake. It has to be cooled to room temperature before being used for a filling in a sushi or else it will get too sticky while being seasoned.

Sushi rice is prepared with short-grain Japanese rice which has a consistency that differs from regular long-grain rice and its essential quality is its stickiness. That is why Japanese rice is sometimes called sticky rice.

If you are looking in a supermarket then the sushi rice sold in a pack would be the same as a Japanese type of rice which is a short grain rice and sometimes called sticky rice. You can make sushi with any type of Japanese or short grain rice.

The kind of rice used for making sushi or rice balls is short and sticky rice as compared with long rice and there is another very sticky rice(short rice) which is used to make rice cakes and is usually steam cooked. This rice is not suited for making sushi or rice balls, althoug not impossible.
