Each ethnic group brought the traditions and food preferences of their origins. For example...the pilgrims from England brought roasting of meats (pigs, chicken, wild game etc) and the side dishes associated with it ( they also learned to use native foods from the indigenous people). When the Irish came they brought stews and potatoes. When the Italians came they brought pasta and pizza among other things. The Chinese brought noodles and stir fry and bite size pieces. These are only a few of the contributions of all the diverse ethnic contributions to the cuisine of Massachusetts.

I grew up in Boston and tasted all these wonderful foods
