India is a big country. In northern regions they might eat bread (naan, chapattis etc) with the meat. Further south they eat rice. In the north west there is a tendency to add dried fruits to the meat. In southern areas they tend towards vegetarian meals and the dishes tend to become more spicy. Because of religious restrictions, the meat will probably be sheep, goat or chicken. In Calcutta, where there is quite a large Anglo-Indian/Christian population some might eat pork. (Vindaloo). In coastal areas they also eat fish and shell fish.
Because of the variations from region to region and the size of the country, asking what Indians eat for dinner is a bit like asking what Europeans eat for dinner, which could be anything from fish and chips to osso bucco or paella.
It depends on where the people are from in India. I'm from Gujarat, which is in western India and we eat roti, vegetables curry, meat curry and rice for dinner.
