Do Chinese/Asian People Still Use Chopsticks?!

Question: Do Chinese/Asian People Still Use Chopsticks?
Just wondering...
I know that it is part of their original culture, but because of all the western ifluence, do they still use them natively in China, Japan, etc?

Most Asian countries (eg: Korea, China and Japan) still use chopsticks.

I see people using chopsticks in restaurants here in Canada, in fact I use them myself in an Asian restaurant though I'm not Asian, so yes, chopsticks are still used. Chopsticks aren't used because Asian cultures couldn't figure out how to make knives and forks, you know. Almost the whole Asian cuisine is based on cooking with minimal fuel, that's why stuff is almost always in bite-sized pieces which will cook quickly, so there is no need for a knife at the table to cut food small enough to get in your mouth.

Everyone still uses them in China at least. (Unless they changed since August, when I was last over there. :P)

It's a lot easier to eat using chopsticks, since instead of separate knives, spoons, and forks, they just use one set of chopsticks.

The Western influence is still there though. In many places, you can ask for forks and stuff.

Of course.
Fortunately I learned to use them at a young age. On my two trips to China some restaurants offered me a fork. I just said no thanks and took my chopsticks out of my pocket. Actually the hotel restaurant stopped asking after the third or fourth time. They were impressed that I carried my own.

People in Japan still mostly use chopsticks and this hasn't changed much over the last decade. At home chopsticks would be used all the time, but if people eat at an Italian or French restaurant they would use a knife and fork although chopsticks are available.

Yes people in China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam still uses chopsticks. They've been using it for at least a thousand years and still continue using.

They use chopsticks not only in China, but most of the oriental countries as well. My wife still uses them when we go out to oriental restaurants just like she did in the Philippines.

In Japan, we usually use chopsticks for eating though younger people are not good at handling chopsticks now.

I use chopsticks all the time.
I use them for almost everything and so do my families & friends.

Yes, we do. We do not totally follow Occidental culture, and we never have.

Yes, they do, but spoons/forks/knives will still be used if they are eating other cuisine.

Yes, we still use chopsticks. We don't need to re-spear any food that's already dead.
