Any short grain rice will work. :)

You might be able to find "sushi rice" in an international section of a grocery store. Even look for an asian market..

Rice is easy to cook, just follow the directions on the box/bag or find some online!

The rice used in Japanese cooking is a short grain rice, which has a consistency that differs from long-grain strains such as those from India, Thailand, and Vietnam. The essential quality is its stickiness or glutinousness.

Have a look in your supermarket for any short grain rice or sushi rice which when sold in a packet is basically the same.

My fave brand is Kokuho Rose Rice.

I use white Basmati. It is very easy to cook and comes out beautifully fluffy every time. Comes highly recommended.

short grain rice that is sticky, but not gooy. it's holds the shape when done, only use for special dishes unlike the regular rice which can be use in so many ways.

My grandmother who is mexican/asian/indian always uses Jasmine rice. Real good.
