Are you from Libya??? can you give me some ideas what I should cook for a Libyan please?!
I've looked at a few websites but I'd like to hear from someone who is from Libya, that could tell me a few favourite and well known Libyan dishes. I have a young student coming to stay and I'd like hime to feel at home with me.
Thanks in advance.

Very thoughtful of you.
I'm not Libyan but have many Libyan friends and lived there for 3-4 months.
You can't go wrong with a Couscous, popular in all the north African countries, Served with a Hareesa and Baharat spiced chicken in the middle.
Hareesa - spicy tomato paste
Baharat = Mixed Arabic spices
When I stayed with a Libyan family it was one of my favourites with everyone sharing from a ginormous plate.
If they are Libyan Muslim then Halal chicken/meat will make them very happy and feeling at home.
They used to serve it with a refreshing sweet Milk and yoghurt drink, forgot its name but very similar to Indian Lassi.
Good luck..!!
I had the same idea when some friends came to stay from Hungary, they said it was very kind of me to make goulash but they wanted to taste Dutch or British food, it may be a good idea to ask your guest what he would like.
Have fun!
