Answers:
try HEB( it think that is the name of the supermarket) they are really good, if not go to google and see if there is an Indian store, usually they carry them.

If you are at the super store go to spices section and usually they are in alphabetical order you should be able to find

You can find those spices in your local grocery store.

it the spice section at any grocery store

Those are common spices, you should be able to find them at a good grocery store. If not, put McCormick in the search engine and go to their site to order.

If you can't get them at the local store try;

http://www.penzeys.com/cgi-bin/penzeys/s...

order them from lee lee

Those are common spices in the US and can be found in almost any grocery store spice section. Use termeric sparingly: it will turn your foods bright yellow.

They are spices and found in the spices section of a grocery store. McCormick is one name brand that provides a wide variety of spices, blends, and seasonings.

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plant of the ginger family, Zingiberaceae which is native to tropical South Asia.

Curry powder is a mixture of spices of widely varying composition developed by the British during their colonial rule of India.
Most recipes and producers of curry powder usually include coriander, turmeric, cumin, and fenugreek in their blends. Depending on the recipe, additional ingredients such as ginger, garlic, fennel seed, clove, mustard seed, green cardamom, black cardamom, nutmeg, red pepper, cinnamon and black pepper may also be added.

Even at HEB they are more expensive than a bulk foods store. Curry and turneric both have a short shelf life so bulk is best cause you can get just the amount you need.

Both of the spices you mentioned are available along with all the other spices in your grocery store.

any grocery store should have those spices. also organic food stores usually have a larger variety of spices.

there is a terrific online source:

www.iShopIndian.com .....not only do they have all the Indian spices, they are reasonably priced, which is saying something, considering prices for some of these things.......I do not know where you are located but for storage, you can buy very nice tins online from:
www.containerstore.com ....type in 'seamless tins' and you will find very nice plain tins that will keep out the light (good for the freshness of herbs and spices).... and to mark them I suggest you go to your local stationery store (the one with office supplies ....have you one nearby?) and get those nice mailing labels that are white with red borders....they have ordinary glue on them that makes them removable in water, and get a nice water-repellent felt-tipped pen and write the name of the spice or herb ... and paste it onto the tin ...they come in several sizes

have fun!

p.s. if you find that iShopIndian has
packages that are too big ...and you prefer to purchase new spices rather than let your supplies become stale ... you might consider giving some as gifts ... the little tin containers are very nice for that (and other things, too) ..
