Some Thai food is very spicy, some is very mild, depends on what you order and how you order it. Curries make up a small fraction of Thai dishes and many are not spicy at all, the famous masaman for example. You can order pad krapao with little or no chili and it is not spicy, but rural Thais eat it loaded with chilies.
Most Thai people eat very spicy food because they have high tolerance of it. Thai food can be spicy depending on who is preparing the food. If I were to prepare it for myself I would make it very very spicy but for others I can make it mild or not spicy at all. If you would like to try Thai Food, depending on where you get it just make sure you mention to the server/waitress that you would like your food mild or no spice at all. I'm sure they can accommodate and have it made to your preference.
Typically, yes. Most Thai foods are a curry base, each curry has it's own natural flavors that some may consider spicy. If you don't like spicy foods, try something like a Pad Thai - a noodle based dish with some form of protein and often you'll find peanuts as a topping. My favorite is the Drunken noodle dish. You can always request that the dish be "less" spicy, most restaurants will adjust the spice if you ask.
Hope this helped! :)
some is, some isn't
just like most nationalities
you can get a spicy curry, or you can get some more mild
the main theme of most thai foods is a balance of the different tastes:
hot (spicy), sour, sweet, salty, and bitter
Thai people love to eat spicy hot food. However, it depends on the preference of an idividual but you can always have an option.
It can be, but it DOES not have to be.
Just tell them "no spice" when you order
Thai food is awesome.
I recomend "pad won sen" with chicken or your favorite meat/seafood
most thai restaurants give you a choice from mild to fire. i would not recommend the fire.
No Korean is. Thai food is mild and fragrant. They do have curry but they are sort of coconutty.
