i love clover butter went to the shop one day and they didn't have none i was told it had been discontinued and taken of the shelves in all shops because there was something wrong with it there was nothing on the news about this dose any body have any idea

It was recalled due to Mold in the tubs
LONDON: Britain's Dairy Crest Group Plc said Tuesday it is recalling two million tubs of Clover butter spread as the butter has been feared to be contaminated by mould following a production mistake.
The company said all the tubs of the butter spread with best-before dates up to 10 August 2007 are being recalled. The recall would cost the company around 1 million pounds, it said.

Apparently 17 people started feeling ill after eating it and the manufacturers found some tubs had mould in them. Accidently mixed in at the factory. Same mould as found in Stilton. Maybe it will be back on sale soon cos I love it too!

What is clover butter? Is it something like butter (but actually hydrogenated vegetable oil) made of clover, or is it made of milk from cows which were fed clovers? Or is it a trademark?

it had traces of mould in it that made people sick!
I only heard about 1 batch being dodgy MONTHS ago. My local supermarket was still selling Clover 30 minutes ago.
