In Japanese Cuisine, is pepper as depended on as in American cooking?!

Question: In Japanese Cuisine, is pepper as depended on as in American cooking?
I know we salt and pepper a meat as a basic seasoning.

In Japan do they use pepper as much as us?

Answers:

In Traditional Japanese Cuisine they don`t use pepper at all. Salt is used as well as soy sauce which contains quite a lot of salt, if pepper is used it is usually a white pepper containing salt. This pepper is called shiokoshou (塩こしょう)and typically used with Japanese style Western dishes like hamburger (ハンバーグ)fried rice (チャーハン)omelets (オムレツ)and karaage (唐揚げ)It is also used with yakitori and other modern Japanese dishes.

in short, no, but they do.

No. because we don't consume as much meat as Americans.
But we do use it when we eat Spaghetti or Steaks and "Gaban" is common pepper at the most households.
