How long can I have a cabagge in a fridge?!

Question:

How long can I have a cabagge in a fridge?

I have a guinea pig and they also like cabbage. problem is that cabbage is big, I cant buy just a small piece, I have to buy all of it. so if I put cabbage in the fridge, how long will it lasts? cause guinea pigs eats small, not like humans.

Answers:
Do you not eat cabbage yourself? I have a dwarf rabbit and I just give him pieces out of the bag of salad I buy for myself.

How long will YOU last if you don't eat your veggies?

Just keep it until it turns brown-ish in color. I have guinea pigs too, so I know what a hassle it is to buy a hughe head of lettuce or cabbage when they cant eat it all. Heres a tip: buy the bagged kind, so when your not using it, you can close it up and it will keep longer! Good luck, and hope I helped some!

Cabbage will stay good for several weeks. Just watch that it doesn't turn brown or get soft or slimy-feeling.
Why not eat some of it yourself? Fry it up in butter with lots of salt & pepper, or make a batch of coleslaw.

A cabbage will last at least two weeks if you keep it in a bag in the vegetable drawer.
Do not cut the cabbage as the exposed face will go brown after a few days, not that the Guinea pig would mind.
Just peel a few leaves off each time.
I am sure if you ask you would be able to buy a half, it is quite standard here.

Go to the vegetable section of perhaps a smaller supermarket and see if you can go through their waste.
I regularly see people who don't want the outer leaves of cabbages, lettuce etc tearing them of and putting it in the bin.
The staff normally do the same when they prepare them for presentation.
Just ask and you never know what else you may be able to get, for FREE.
