i bought a item from a major supermarket and when i opened it it was covered in mould what should i do?!

Cry about it... that is what is best to do.
Contact the manufacturer of the product and let them know first. Then, depending on what they advise you to do, return it to the store (or not). Usually it helps contacting the manufacturer first... They're going to be more helpful/apologetic than the supermarket.
Take it back and file a complaint. You'll most likely be refunded and shouldn't loose any status as a valued customer at all, especially in a chain supermarket
Take it back. Hopefully you still have the receipt. They'll probably replace it or give you your money back.
Happened to me too. I went back to the supermarket and got a refund.
