What should we eat?!

Question:

What should we eat?

what would be a good dinner thing to have for a hawaiian style luau party?
something inexpensive please, also something for a vegetarian and for people who eat meat. thanks!

Answers:
Hi we have a luau party every year, in fact we just got back from a luau camping trip. Below are some recipes that I use, you will find drinks sides and main dishes. Sorry it is a little long but, most of them are VERY cheap!!!!!

Beef or Chicken Teriyaki:

3 lb. sliced beef <> or chicken
1/3 cup sugar, 1/2 cup soy sauce
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 (1/2 inch) piece ginger root, crushed
Soak your skewers in water,
so that they will not burn on the barbecue.
Then place your beef or chicken in a bowl.
Combine sugar, soy sauce, garlic and ginger, marinate beef or chicken,
at least 30 minutes. Then thread your beef/chicken on the skewers.
Broil over hot coals for 3 to 5 minutes on each side. Enjoy!!

1 Green onion or small round onion1 1/2 qts Canned tomatoes

Fried Bannas

Pancake Mix
Bananas

Peel and slice bananas lengthwise. Make your basic pancake batter. Dip bananas in batter and fry like you would pancakes.
Spam Kebobs - Makes 32

3 cans Spam
2 20-oz cans pineapple chunks, drained (use liquid in your rum punch, if making)
32 wooden skewers
water

Soak skewers in water for at least 30 minutes (I fill a big cup or a vase with water, and stand the skewers in it, point side UP... it's the uncovered-by-food tail sections that really need protection from burning).

Cut each loaf of Spam into 32 small chunks (halve it, then cut each half into 4 strips, and each strip into 4 cubes... you can do it w/ just 5 cuts per loaf).

For each skewer, thread on Spam, pineapple, Spam, pineapple, Spam, pineapple. The chunks should touch, but not be CRAMMED together. Put on a plate (or handy disposable lasagne pan), and repeat w/ the rest of the skewers. Cover and hold in the fridge until it's grill time.

Grill over high heat until you get beautiful caramelized marks on yer Spam. You're not at risk of undercooking... it's SPAM... but you want it to look pretty.

Mmmm, tasty!
