I have never had sushi/sashimi. Is it good?!

Question: I have never had sushi/sashimi. Is it good?
What kind of flavor does it have? Also, what is the texture?

Answers:

personally i love sushi and sashimi i think the taste is very good, texture is a bit different on what kind fish or seafood you have. if you are afraid at first just try sushi first then sashimi. start from salmon and tuna. if you like it then you can try other things like prawn, squid and other fish. if you afraid of fishy smell maybe salmon roe and sea urchin should be your last pick. oh and maybe you can try the broiled ( raw in the middle cooked in outside ) sushi usually beef or tuna which is very good and i think is very suitable for beginners.

It has different flavors, depending on the fish used, but they're pretty light instead of strong. If you're afraid of the texture of the raw fish, I'd start with something like whitefish, which is really buttery-textured and just melts in your mouth. When you try sashimi, try mackerel, which usually comes with green onions on top and marinated in lemon juice. It's really good! Definitely have some soy sauce and ginger with your sushi/sashimi, but go easy on the wasabi. Just go to a restaurant and taste a bunch of different types. If you get the nigiri rolls instead of the maki, you will only get two pieces (don't worry, they're also much cheaper), so if you don't like it it's no big deal and you can get lots of kinds to try.

It`s better than good, it`s great!! Fresh sushi or sashimi has a clean, delicate, light taste and should have no fishy smell. I recommend starting with something easy like makizushi and then working up to things like maguro (tuna), shake (salmon) and ebi (prawn). I enjoy my sushi with a little wasabi and soy sauce and like to have some pickled ginger to cleanse the palate after each sushi.

If you're not into fish, then you probably won't be into sushi. If you're willing to try it, go for it! However, I always go for the cooked fish rather than the raw. It's too much of a risk, even from the best sushi restaurants. I know very few people who like sushi or would try it, but I had one friend who claims she threw up when she had it, so I'd buy it to go and try it at home the first time.

i personally am not a fan of it because i don't like my fish raw, but many people have said its delicious! its got this mild fishy flavor mixed in with the vegetables that are wrapped in the kelp coating. its usually cold and the texture is weird because its rice + the fish.

try it though!!!!! you might love it :)

Its not really a describable taste because its alot different from the typical food you would eat (i.e french fries, pizza, chicken) if you like crab i suggest you try california rolls with soy sause! its very good! and i remember when i firsted tried sushi i was like "ew" but im hooked on it! id give it a try! its defintely worth the risk!

good luck :-) xoxox ?

My expiriences :p

shashimi = raw fish... sushi can be raw or cooked like california rolls alaskan rolls or tuna sushi they're all cooked.. it's delicious i love cali rolls try them it's seaweed wrapped in rice and sesame seeds inside is some crab and avocado really really good

sashimi is a raw fish and probably doesn't have much flavour. a sushi is a half cooked fish and has more flavour and you can eat it with soya sauce. i personally wouldn't like to taste any of them.

Try a smoked salmon nigiri (oblong mound of sushi rice topped with a slice of smoked salmon), perhaps add soy sauce. It's very basic, and that was what got me into sushi and sashimi.

YES

I love it

Sushi rolls:I love the crunchy roll, the spider roll, firecraker roll, california roll, ahi tuna...... i love it all

Sashini: I love salmon, ahi and unagi

it's amazing, if you're used to it.

try something like Unagi first (barbequed eel), it may seem exotic, but it should taste more familiar than the other kinds.

hope i helped(:

Sushi is AMAZING <3 :)

No one can describe a flavor. Just go try it yourself.
