why are greek and lebanese food similar?!
Answers:
They are kinda in the same region of the world. I mean Greece is technically in Europe and Lebanon is the Middle East but they are relatively close. Also, at one point the Turks ( Turkey) took over Greece and they were part of the Ottoman Empire , which included Lebanon for a some of the time I believe. Pita bread, hummus and grape leaves are part of Greek food. However, falafel is not that is more Lebanese.
I am part Greek
Let me set the record straight. We don't have pita bread, we don't have falafel, we don't have hummus and lastly we don't eat grape leaves.
Don't know how you sorted that info, but here in Greece i have never seen those things anywhere else but Lebanese restaurants, which are not that many here anyway.
The Greek cuisine is heavily influenced by the Italian and most probably added by some foods made in minor asia and Constantinople back when there was a strong Greek settlement there. If there is some sort of anatolian influence with certain limited Greek foods, that would probably be derived from Turkey due to the fact that Greeks lived there for many centuries..
Similar climate & soil so they grow similar foodstuffs. Not too far apart geographically. Similar cultural influences and access to spices/herbs.
Geographically similar locations, cultural exchanges, merging of influences.
similar terrain. you can only cultivate so much in the same-type area. hope this helps!
That area in the Mediterranean has been conquered by the same people... As a result, the food is very similar.
Yes is similar
I guess because lesbians and greeks both like nasty tasting stuff
