Does anyone know the name of that mexican grill...?!

Question:

Does anyone know the name of that mexican grill...?

that the street food vendors use in Mexico? It sort of looks like a Caribbean steel drum but has a raised center for the tortillas.

Answers:
It is refered to as a "tamal", I have one I bought in Mexico years ago, mine is cast iron, I wonder what the customs and luggage people thought I had in my bag.

There are some made of anonized steel, even in some area a ceramic type, if you do not have one a non stick 9 inch skillet can be used instead.

it's not a tamal, its a comal you can get one in any mexican food store, or can try major local grocery store if they have an ethics food aisle.

the Comal comes in different sizes. I suggest you purchase the largest. As big as a large frying pan so you can toss 2-3 tortillas on it.. The're inexpensive. Most Mexican stores carry them.

It is a comal. You can use a cast iron skillet for the same effect.
