Marinated herring question?!

Question: Marinated herring question?

I bought raw herring that is marinated in sour cream and raw onions. (I bought this from a fish market). How is this supposed to be eaten? Do people eat this raw? Do they bake it with the sour cream and onions?

This is the way , I do eat it. The rest of the cream, I use as dressing for my green salad.
4 potatoes in the micro, 2 herring and 3 leaves of salad --- a fast dinner for a single.

But with roast potatoes it does also taste well.

You also can simpy eat it on top of a slice of bread.

You can serve it as is, put it on lettuce leaves, or serve it with cold cooked or pickled beets. It is also good with potato salad. You don't cook it. ∠°)

You can also put it on crackers.
