Aside from specific dishes, I think it's a meat and potatoes food culture. ∠°)

Traditional English cuisine includes

Fish & Chips
Roast Dinner/Sunday Lunch: A main meat (usually chicken, pork, beef, lamb or similar), vegetables (such as sweetcorn, peas, carrots etc), roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, yorkshire puddings and gravy.
Pies & Pasties:(hot) steak & kidney, cheese and onion, chicken and mushroom, cornish pasty. (cold) pork pies. (other) Shepherd's pie or cottage pie is lamb or beef respectively (usually in a gravy-type sauce) topped with potato.
English breakfast (or 'fry up') usually consists of: bacon, sausages, eggs, fried tomatoes, fried mushrooms, bakes beans and toast.
Hotpot: A sort of stew consisting of a meat such as lamb or beef, a mixture of vegetables and potatoes.
Chicken Tikka Masala is actually an Indian style dish invented in England

Tea: A popular drink in England drunk traditionally with a selection of cakes mid afternoon, but now drunk throughout the day, people often have 'tea breaks' during work.

Do you mean specifically British produced food?
In that case - lots of excellent cheese - Cheddar, Cheshire, Stilton, Wensleydale to name a few;
Melton Mowbray pies, Staffordshre oatcakes, Arbroath smokies, Haggis, sausages, black pudding, Devonshire or Dorest cream tea, Marmite, crumpets, Lancashire hotpot

Cheese and Onion Pie (#2)
600 grams cheddar cheeze (medium or old), shredded
4 medium to large onion, chopped
pastry for upper and lower crusts

Boil onions in a little water. When transparent, drain, reserving the liquid. Mix shredded cheeze into HOT onions. If mixture seems a little dry, add a LITTLE of the reserved stock (the remainder can be frozen for soup stock).

Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell and cover with pastry top. Bake at 350 F until shell is golden brown. Serve hot or cold. Excellent with a salad and Branson pickle.

Note: If you have too much mixture for your pie shell, mix a bit of dry mustard in it and spread over toast for a "mock" Welsh Rarebit.

This is a recipe my mother brought from England when we immigrated. I have fond memories of my dad and I coming home, smelling Mom's cheeze & onion and attempting to devour it long before it's designated meal time. My Canadian husband has now carried on this tradition and I find it a favourite when taken to pot lucks, etc.

This is my great grandmother's Devonshire Cream recipe. She would put cut up fruit in small bowls and spoon this mixture over it for us with hot tea for breakfast. We all loved it

One 8 oz package cream cheese
One 12 oz carton sour cream
Juice of one lemon
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups powdered sugar (icing sugar)

Mix thoroughly till sugar is dissolved. May spoon over fruit in a bowl or use as fondue type fruit dip.
