It will be very very dry!! Instead of the microwave defrost it in cold cold water. Fill your sink with cold water add the packaged fish and let sit 20, drain water refill and let sit additional 20 then drain and your fish should be thawed safely and it will not dry it out. You should use this method with all meats instead of partially cooking in the microwave to defrost. Just make sure when the water becomes room temp to drain and refill with COLD water to maintain a safe temp for the meat. NEVER USE HOT WATER it will start the cooking process and will not maintain a healthy temp.

Dont use warm water either, foods have to remain between 40 degrees Celsius and 140 degrees Celsius for bacteria not to grow in them.

Do not do that. Never defrost in the microwave its just gross. Like the other use said just fill a large bowl with cold water and it will defrost VERY fast. I would suggest using a pan for your salmon its a much better flavor. Just add some olive oil on medium heat and cook on each side until done..

Woah that is too much thawing and cooking. Set salmon is warm water in a bowl in your sink or in the frig for about 1/2 hour or till thawed. Then cook the average size steak for only 3 minutes per side. it will be ruined if you cook it for 20 minutes.

You would be overcooking it if you did that. You just need to thaw it then cook it for a couple minutes on both sides if on the stove top or bake it for about 6 minutes.

Yes. Totally.

Watch you do not cook it in the microwave. Sounds like too much microwaving and cooking to me. But if you like the result..................

Experience.

it will be overdone it is safe to eat as soon as it is cooked through light pink
