What can I use for a tahini substitute?!
Any suggestions for a substitute?
Answers:
Toasted sesame seed oil would be a fine substitute, because it's also made of sesame.
Peanut butter might be a bit overpowering, but..it would work. Any nut butter, actually.
Do you have any sesame seeds? Just grind them in a food processor or with a mortar and pestle until they form a paste.
Or a combination of any of the above.
Erm...because of the TD I'll summarize:
-Nut butter
-Toasted sesame oil
-sesame seeds
Pick one. Simple enough? The peanut butter will not taste the same, and flavor is the whole point of adding tahini.
You can not ever substitute tahini but you can make another Middle Eastern dip out of white beans that you grind, they taste alike as well.
