How does one prepare Kasha, the Russian Buckwheat Groats speciality?!

Question: How does one prepare Kasha, the Russian Buckwheat Groats speciality?
I am on the verge of purchasing some, but it occurs to me I don't know how to prepare it. Could some one given me some pointers. This is not "instant" kasha, but buckwheat groats bought in bulk.

Thanks.

Answers:

First of all, make sure you buy roasted buckwheat, because if you buy the raw stuff you'll need to roast it first.
Kasha is very simple to make, it is cooked similarly to rice. For each 1 cup of buckwheat take 1,5 cups of water, bring to a boil in saucepan on medium heat, then reduce the heat and cook until all water is absorbed. It takes about 15-20 min all up. Add salt to taste. Also, Russians like their buckwheat with butter, so add a little butter, let it melt and stir through. Enjoy!

I'm Russian
