all i know is that it is an italian dessert....and i had torroncino floavoured gelato once

It's a semifreddo, which means that it's a semi frozen dessert. Italians like to use this for custards, ice cream cakes, and some fruit tarts. It has the texture of a frozen mousse bc it's made with equal parts of gelato and whipped cream.
