Is Southwestern food the same as Mexican food?!

Question: Is Southwestern food the same as Mexican food?
Answers:

Southwestern cuisine is a natural fusion that occured between northern mexico and the southwestern united states. It is heavilly influenced on abundance of meat that came from the all the ranchers in the area, and usually utilizes the sauces and produce of traditional northern mexican cuisine with the cooking techniques (ie. barbeque) of the american cattle ranchers. It has little to do with about 90 percent of authentic mexican cuisine.

I think you are thinking of Tex Mex. Chili's is tex mex. Like chips and salsa are tex mex . BBQ places have them as do mexican restaurants. I am not a fan of Tex mex. To me quesadilla's and ribs don't belong in the same restaurant.

No, not really. Southwestern is influenced by Mexican food. There are just some differences here and there, but overall they are 2 completely different cuisines. Example: Wrap (southwestern) and a burrito (Mexican).

were you paying attention in any cultural classes? The reason why I ask this question is because you ask someone you know from that area and they will say no. Please think about what your asking.

No.
