What are good spices for a regular omelet?!

Question:

What are good spices for a regular omelet?

Answers:
I try not to add too many spices to the egg part of a filled omlette, or I find it overpowers the taste, or they sort of fight/overpower each other. Also the more stuff you add to the egg mixture, the more you weigh it down, so it won't be as light and fluffy as a good omlette should be. As a rule, the ones I find that work the best in terms of adding just enough flavor are salt, pepper, and chives. (If you don't have fresh most stores sell them freeze dried now).

My suggestion is to season whatever you are cooking as the filling ingredients, and that would vary according to what you are are using.

Salt and pepper and for an extra flavor some garlic powder.

Most commonly used are finely chopped green chillies, chopped onions, coriander leaf and powder and a pinch of turmeric all of which are added to the egg before it is whisked.

salt and pepper. Not too much salt because cheese has salt.

Fines herbes (mixture of basil, marjoram, oregano, rosemary, sage, tarragon and thyme) is wonderful, but just tarragon is nice, too.

I usually just add salt & pepper to taste, but a dash of tabasco is yummy too!

I like my omelet with green & red bell peppers, mushrooms, & tomato, so it's usually already got its spice in it!

try adding a dash of garlic or tarragon too, for a gourmet taste! Other options are rosemary ( probably not that tasty in an omelet though), sage, or thyme, basil or anise! Happy cooking!
:o)
What kinda omelet ya' makin'?

Salt and pepper, onion powder, little garlic powder and maybe a bit of paprika

I like cilantro in my omelets. Any fresh herbs are great. Experiment a little and you will find what pleases you and your family.

Good luck!

1 dash "Frank's Red Hot Sauce", the smallest pinch of nutmeg ever, a dash of salt & pepper, and a touch of whipping cream, mixed in with the eggs in a pan with melted butter, add whatever you like to the omlette, I must agree a teeny tiny pinch of cilantro will perk up the eggs but only a very teeny tiny pinch, kind of like with the nutmeg : )

salt, pepper, and chopped tomato. if you replace salt by fish sauce, it'll be better
