Answers:
No they don't come from the same plant. Castor or caster sugar is also known as superfine sugar, is more finely granulated. Because it dissolves almost instantly, superfine sugar is perfect for sweetening cold liquids. It can be substituted for regular granulated sugar cup for cup. It's made from cane or beets. Castor oil actually comes from a seed and is used in the making of soaps, lubricants, hydraulic and brake fluids, paints, dyes, coatings, inks, cold resistant plastics, waxes and polishes, nylon, pharmaceuticals and perfumes. It can also be found in chocolates and candies. Castor oil as generally safe and effective for over-the-counter use as a laxative.
