What are the best Indian food dishes?!

Question: What are the best Indian food dishes?
I have never been to an Indian restaurant (I'm in the southern United States), but I may get to go to one tomorrow. What are the traditional favorites? I have absolutely no idea what to order! I don't like very spicy food, but a little heat is OK. I am very fond of Mexican.

My best friend who died, and whose mother made some REALLY, REALLY good chow.

Order two chapatis or roti with Palak Paneer (Spinach in cottage cheese). Then order Chicken Biryani (rice with chicken, vegetables).
Or order butter naan with Butter Chicken, Veg Pulav (rice dish with rice and vegetables).
Or for purely veg, order roti, naan or kulcha (all Indian breads) with Dal Fry or Dal Tadka or Navaratna Korma (a somewhat sweetish veg dish, I recommend this). Then order just Ghee Rice (ghee is clarified butter). You can eat the left over veg dishes with the rice. For dessert order Gajar ka halva (carrot halva), or Gulab Jamun (really good when served hot).

Chicken Biryani, Chichen Masala, Lacha Paratha, Dosa... Tell the waiter that you don't eat spicy.

Lamb Korma

and Butter Chicken!!!!!!! (although it's technically British they serve it in Indian restaurants)

CURRY IS THE BEST THING EVER.

CURRY.
