Are there sweet samosas or just savory ones?!

Question: Are there sweet samosas or just savory ones?
Samosas are so tasty! I think the dough would taste great with sweet fillings, too. Are there such things as sweet samosas in traditional cuisine?

Have never seen sweet samosas on sale in any shop in India! For Diwali and other festivals people may make sweets which are similar to samosas, ie sweet filling in pastry, but they are NOT called samosas. You may be referring to Gujia, which is similar : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gujia

It is possible that other countries do have a variation of sweet filled samosas. The link to the pakistani recipe is obviously not indian, nor traditional samosa, which is triangular and not crescent shaped, and seems to be a Gujia and not a samosa.

Catholics in Goa make something similar, called neoreos. They are filled with a mixture of fresh coconut, raisins, nuts, currants etc. and are also crescent shaped and deep-fried.

I lived in East African where Samosas are a huge delicacy, because of the Asian influence. But I have never come across sweet samosas. That would be kinda turning them to a pastry. You can add a pinch of brown sugar to the ground beef or ground turkey. I personally prefer ground turkey coz it is healthier.

You can try it out, perhaps you will discover something new. The beauty of cooking is that you can also learn new things through trial. I love cooking and I have started to share my experiences on the web. If you love samosas you will probably like chapatis.
