How much meat?!

Question:

How much meat?

How much meat should I calculate per adult guest at a dinner grill party? Please provide answers in grams, thanks.

Answers:
There is a distinction between proper serving size for daily eating, and entertaining, because it is considered rude as host to run out of food.

That said, the standard portion of meat is 120g for women and 170g for men. You should multiple these amounts by +25% when entertaining.

In America, many people eat a lot more than this however. I usually serve about 225g per person when serving Americans.

well a serving is about 3oz(90 grams) so i would say between 90-180g per person

i doubt any1 can calculate but my mom just grabs a fist full and puts in this tortilla squishing thing (dont know what its called) nut u grab a fistfull because wheen u grill it it shrinks a little

it would all depend on how much everyone eats. and how many children are going to be there. i would allow about 100g for children and 200g for adults. also, if you have 10 people showing up, allow enough food for asthough you are feeding 15. people tend to eat more when they are with others.

To be safe a half pound (225 grams) per person is the norm. This accommodates the big eaters while making sure you have enough for everyone.
